Rosacea

Long-term control of persistent facial redness, visible vessels and sensitivity.

Rosacea is a chronic skin disease that shows up as redness in the centre of the face, visible blood vessels and sometimes acne-like bumps. It is often dismissed as “just sensitive skin” and goes unnoticed for years.

Symptoms

  • Persistent redness on the cheeks, nose, forehead and chin
  • Flushing after hot drinks, spicy food, sun or stress
  • Visible small blood vessels
  • Red bumps and pustules without blackheads
  • Burning or stinging skin, sometimes irritated eyes

Treatment and care

Rosacea does not simply “go away”, but with the right treatment it can be kept calm for a long time. I prescribe topical and, when needed, oral preparations, and together we identify what triggers your flare-ups.

  • A gentle, fragrance-free cleanser and moisturiser
  • SPF with mineral filters
  • Avoiding scrubs, alcohol toners and warming masks
