Sexually transmitted infections

As a dermatovenereologist, I also diagnose and treat sexually transmitted infections. The two most important things here are confidentiality and seeking help in time.

When to see a doctor

• Sores, a rash or warts on the genitals or in the mouth
• Unusual discharge, itching or burning
• A rash on the body with no obvious cause
• After unprotected sex, even without symptoms

There may be no symptoms

Syphilis, for example, can continue for years without any symptoms. A person feels healthy while the infection stays active in the body. No symptoms does not mean no infection. Examination, tests and treatment are fully confidential.
